Tina Turner has described scattering her son’s ashes as her “saddest moment as a mother”.
Craig Raymond Turner, who was the singer’s eldest son, died from a gunshot wound in his home earlier this month.
He is believed to have taken his own life.
Turner tweeted a photo showing her dropping a red rose into the sea, with her family beside her.
She wrote: “My saddest moment as a mother. On Thursday, July 19 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California.
“He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”
The estate agent was pronounced dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles, on 3 July.
His post-mortem results are yet to be released.
Turner had Craig when she was aged just 18. His father was saxophonist Raymond Hill.
Craig later took the name of Ike Turner, Tina’s first husband, when he adopted the youngster.
In a 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Tina Turner said Craig was “a very emotional kid”.
Describing the abuse she suffered at Ike’s hands, and the resulting black eyes, she said Craig would “always look down in sadness”.
The Simply The Best singer has three other children, Ronnie, 57 – her only son with Ike, Ike Jr, 59, and Michael, 58, Ike’s children from a previous relationship, who Turner raised as her own.
